La chanson a soixante ans. Je l'ai entendue pour la première fois par The Clash. Des gens plus âgés que moi l'auront connue par Bobbby Fuller.
 

Sonny Curtis l'a écrite en 1960, et a dit en interview au site tennessean.com:
"Je l'ai écrite dans mon salon à West Texas (NdT: ville entre Austin et Dallas), il y avait une tempête de sable, c'est tout ce dont je me souviens de cet après-midi. Ca m'a pris 20 minutes seulement. On s'en rend compte aux paroles, faut pas avoir bac+10 pour les comprendre. "

La chanson est sortie en 45T, et fait partie de plusieurs compilations.
 

The song is 60 years old, I first heard it with The Clash. People older than me would have discovered it with Bobby Fuller I reckon.
 

Sonny Curtis wrote it in 1960, and said in an interview for tennessean.com: "I wrote it in my living room in West Texas one sandstormy afternoon. If you know West Texas, the sand blows out there, and that's what I remember about that afternoon. It took me about 20 minutes. Well, you can tell by the lyrics, it doesn't take a rocket scientist. But, yeah, about 20 minutes is all it took. "

The song was released in an LP, and appears in various compilations.
