Trois ans plus tard, le groupe s'est arrêté, sans avoir vraiment eu succès dans tout le pays. Janis Joplin était une grande amie, et avait même songé à rejoindre le groupe avant que d'aller en Californie. Roky Erickson, le chanteur du groupe, arrêté en 1969 pour une histoire de marijuana, a opté pour un séjour en hôpital psychiatrique plutôt que de faire de la prison pour cette infraction.

Three years later they disbanded, without really having had a nationwide success. Janis Joplin was a close friend of the band and even tought of joining, before she actually emigrated to the Sun state. Roky Erickson, the singer of the band, arrested for marijuana possession in 1969, had the possibility of going to a psychiatric hospital instead of serving time, and opted for that.
