Comfortably Numb ne se traduit pas par comfortablement engourdi, comme on le voit partout. Il n'est que de lire les paroles pour comprendre que Roger Waters, l'auteur du texte, veut dire qu'il est devenu aisément prone à l'insensibilité, et que c'est dû aux shoots, a priori d'héroïne, qu'on leur suggérait de prendre pour tenir le coup pendant le temps d'un concert par exemple.
 

Comfortably Numb does not quite translate word for word, it doesn't quite work in French, and what Roger Waters, who wrote the song, meant that he has just been given an injection ("just a little pinprick") of opiates, presumably morphine or heroin ("by the way, you may feel a little sick"). The effect is that his perception of reality becomes the psychological equivalent of looking through the wrong end of a telescope. But it helped them through doing their gigs.
